Hrithik Roshan has reportedly been chosen to play the lead role in the remake of 1990 hit Agneepath.

Real Bollywood claims that producer Karen Johar picked the actor to play the part of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, which was made famous by Amitabh Bachchan.

It is thought that Bachchan's son Abhishek wasn't even considered for the role.

"Abhishek Bachchan was never approached for the role in the remake version. Debutant Karan Malhotra will be writing and directing the remake of the movie. The character of Hrithik will have an influence of Al Pacino in Scarface," a source said.

Johar's father Yash produced the original Agneepath.
